Chitku’s adventure #1: CSMVS Mumbai Museum

Chitku says hi πŸ™‚

Meet Chitku – my lovely fairyheart-emoji.jpg

She’s made by caring hands of Uttarakhandi women, with grass from the Himalayan range from northern India. She was part of a batch about to fly off to the European climes. I just loved her, felt she wanted me to keep her with me. I asked her if she would like to come along with me and she agreed, so now she’s my fairy πŸ™‚ We all need them, don’t we? Fairies πŸ™‚

From the temperature of 10 degrees celsius of the Himalayas I am guilty of bringing her to nearly 40 degrees celsius with 75% humidity of a region near the Tropic of Cancer. Chitku didn’t blame me, she just started drooping 😦

So I did the next best thing I could do – I took her to one of my coolest places in the maddening megapolis Mumbai – the CSMVS, formerly Prince of Wales Museum πŸ™‚

She gradually calmed down, glanced around, soaked in the red of the Gulmohar and the yellow of the Amaltas, the pink of the Mota Bondana or Tamhan in Marathi (Jarul in Bangla)… and looked up πŸ™‚

The Amaltas Yellows:

The Gulmohar Reds:

And, the bursting Pink, resplendent, rising above the canons. No wonder it’s the state flower of Maharashtra:
